Athena Albani Cast
The statue is of the type known as "Albani". The Beazley Archive C080.

• Athena wearing a wolf-head cap, and aigis decorated with a head of Gorgo.
• She once held a spear in her right hand and perhaps had a shield on her left arm.
• The head may not belong with the body.
• Copy of a marble statue composed of a head placed on a body found separately.
• The head and body are from versions of a Greek original of about 430-420 BCE.
• They were both found at Tivoli, have been joined together and are now in Rome, Villa Albani, inv. 1012.
